Jeehan Mahmood

Jeehan Mahmood is reputed for her contribution to civil society,torture prevention social work, education and human rights. In recent years she has been working as a human rights consultant nationally and internationally. Working as the national consultant she has developed and authored the National Elderly Policy and Action Plan, The Gender Equality Policy and the Gender Equality Action Plan.

Sunil Abraham

Sunil Abraham is the Public Policy Director, India for Data Governance and Emerging Technologies at Meta India since October 2020. Under the emerging tech, Sunil also focuses AI and how can it be leveraged for communities in global south. Prior to joining Meta, he was an endowed professor at ArtEZ University of the Arts in the Netherlands. Sunil co-founded Mahiti Infotech 23 years ago in Bengaluru which today continues to serve global civil society with free and open source software solutions.

Thomas Schneider

Ambassador Thomas Schneider is leading the Swiss delegation in various fora in the field of digital and internet governance, including AI. In the past 20 years, he has been chairing several international committees and co-initiated several dialogue fora on national and international levels. He is currently the chair of the Council of Europe’s Committee on AI (CAI), mandated to negotiate a binding convention on AI. He has been a co-initiator of EuroDIG and is the president of its Support Association, since 2012.

Prateek Sibal

Prateek Sibal is a Programme Specialist at the Digital Policies and Digital Transformation Section of the Communication and Information Sector at UNESCO Headquarters in Paris, France. In this framework, he leads the Sector’s work on artificial intelligence and digital transformation with a focus on capacity building for the executive, legislative and the judicial branches of government. His work spans research, advocacy, policy advice and capacity building for the governance of digital technologies.

Laura Tresca

Laura Tresca is a journalist and social scientist with expertise in digital rights and government affairs. She is executive director of govDADOS - the Brazilian Association of Data Governance and she also is currently a member of CGI.br - the Brazilian Internet Steering Committee as representative of civil society organizations.

Michael B. Halkitis

The Honorable Michael B. Halkitis was born on February 1st , 1969, in Nassau, Bahamas. He attended St Augustine’s College and Mr. Halkitis began his post secondary education at the College of the Bahamas and earned a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Economics from the University of Western Ontario. Mr. Halkitis qualified as a Chartered Financial Analyst in 1995.
Mr. Halkitis was first elected to The Parliament of The Bahamas in 2002 and again in 2012. He currently serves as Minister of Economic Affairs and Leader of Government Business in The Senate.

Brando Benifei

Brando Benifei is an Italian MEP serving his second term and is the Head of Delegation of Partito Democratico in the European parliament. He is Rapporteur for the Artificial Intelligence Act, as a Member of the Committee for the Internal Market and Consumer Protection. He also works on Employment, Legal and Constitutional Affairs. He was also shadow Rapporteur of the Special Committee on Artificial Intelligence in a Digital Age. In 2016 he was included by Forbes in its 30 under 30 to watch list.

Sumana Shrestha

Sumana Shrestha is a Federal Member of Parliament in the House of Representatives, Nepal. As a first time Parliamentarian, within her first four months, she has already changed two House rules to promote transparency and e-governance. She is passionate about equitable and inclusive growth of Nepal via technology. She is on the mission to inspire the younger generation to be at the helm of law-making in Nepal. She holds an MBA from Massachusetts Institute of Technology Sloan School of Management and was formerly a management consultant with the Boston Consulting Group.

Latifa Al-Abdulkarim

Latifa is a member of the Shura Council (Saudi Parliament), Assistant Professor of Computer Science at King Saud University, and a visiting researcher at the University of Liverpool, with more than 17 years of experience in applied research.

Sorina Teleanu


Sorina has worked in the internet and digital policy field for almost 15 years in roles including policymaking, research, capacity development, and stakeholder engagement. Before joining Diplo, she worked as an advisor in the Parliament of Romania, dealing with ICT-related legislation and policies.

Craig Jones

With more than three decades in law enforcement, Craig Jones leads the INTERPOL Global Cybercrime Programme. The Programme aims to reduce the harm caused by cybercrime impact worldwide through threat response, operations, and global law enforcement capacity building. To do so, INTERPOL strongly promotes Public-Private Partnerships for robust cybercrime intelligence and offers regional support through collaboration with Cybercrime Unit Heads globally.

Agustina Ordoñez

Agustina Ordoñez is a political scientist, researcher, 2021-22 Fox International Fellow at Yale University, M.A. (c) in Journalism at the University of San Andrés and 2021-22 Visiting Fellow in the Information Society Project at Yale Law School. She currently works as chief of advisors with a congresswoman in the Argentine National Congress and coordinate the Gender and Policy Forum at Yale University.

Irena Joveva

Irena Joveva is a Member of the European Parliament from Slovenia, sitting with the liberal Renew Europe group. She is vice coordinator of the Committee of culture and education where she is working on establishing a strong European Media Freedom Act.

Genie Sugene Gan

Genie heads up the Public Policy & Government Affairs business functions across multiple regions in Kaspersky (including Asia-Pacific, Japan, Middle East, Turkey & Africa).
Genie comes with an excellent academic track record; she holds a Juris Doctor in law, an honors degree in Accountancy, and a Specialist Diploma in Counselling Psychology. Called to the Singapore Bar and a qualified lawyer, she is also a Mediation Coach and an International Mediator amongst other things.

Nicola Morini Bianzino

Nicola Morini Bianzino is EY Global Chief Client Technology Officer, focused on bringing technology products to EY clients and positioning technology at the heart of the organization. With a 20-year track record of driving technology strategy innovation, he advises global clients on technology investment and their innovation agendas, providing industrialized technology products to meet their most pressing business needs. An early AI pioneer, he wrote a thesis on the application of neural networks to business in 1997.

Jaimes Hairston

James Hairston is OpenAI's Head of International Policy. James previously worked at Meta for a decade where he led the virtual and augmented reality policy team and served as Policy Advisor to the US Small Business Administrator in the Obama Administration. James holds a JD from Stanford, a BA from Harvard, and sits on the board of the International African American Museum in Charleston, South Carolina.

Cedric Frolick

He represents his home city Gqeberha, Eastern Cape in Parliament. Hon. Frolick, MP majored in Geographical Sciences and Educaition (Honours) at Nelson Mandela university and holds a number of post-graduate qualifications in these fields.
He is currently serving as House Chairperson for Committees, Oversight and ICT since November 2010; he also served as a Senior Whip of the African national Congress from 2004-2009. 

Tobias Bacherle

Tobias B. Bacherle has been Member of the German Bundestag on behalf of the parliamentary group Alliance 90/The Greens since September 2021. As Member of Parliament, he is the Coordinator of the Committee on Digital Affairs, Member of the Committee on Foreign Affairs and Deputy Member of the Committee on European Union Affairs. In addition, he is a Deputy Member in the Subcommittee on the United Nations, International Organisations and Civilian Crisis Prevention.
