IGF Policy Networks are open, multistakeholder groups that work throughout the year on key Internet governance issues of global priority. Their focus areas are determined through a bottom-up, inclusive and consultative process. Policy Networks bring together stakeholders from governments, civil society, the private sector, the technical community and intergovernmental organizations from all parts of the world to exchange expertise, identify policy challenges and develop substantive outputs.
Working Modalities and Way to Participate
Policy Networks are facilitated by multistakeholder working groups of experts, formed through broad bottom-up community consultations. Members of the IGF Multistakeholder Advisory Group (MAG) serve as facilitators, while the IGF Secretariat provides overall neutral coordination and supports the development of the final outputs. The organizational structure of each group may further evolve based on the consensus of participating stakeholders and may include roles such as chairs or co-chairs, as well as leads for specific substantive workstreams.
All Policy Networks operate through an open, inclusive and bottom-up consultative process. Interested stakeholders are invited to subscribe to the dedicated mailing lists or contact the IGF Secretariat for further information.
IGF Policy Networks in 2026
For the 2026 cycle, the community was invited to submit proposals. The proposals received were reviewed by the 2026 Multistakeholder Advisory Group (MAG), which considered their quality, relevance and potential contribution to addressing globally significant digital policy issues. Based on this assessment, the IGF 2026 cycle focuses on the following four Policy Networks:

Policy Network on Artificial Intelligence (PNAI) Policy Network on Cybersecurity (PNC) |
