The concept of AI Ethics revolves around guiding the development and use of AI technologies in a way that prioritizes human rights, fairness, privacy, and security. This session will delve into ethical frameworks and governance models that can help mitigate the risks associated with AI, such as bias, discrimination, and misuse of personal data. It will explore how multistakeholder approaches, including industry self-regulation, governmental policy-making, and civil society engagement, can collaboratively shape AI in a way that aligns with universal ethical standards. Focus areas will include algorithmic transparency, data protection, and AI in public sector applications.

H.E. Mr. Jasem Mohamed AlBudaiwi

H.E. Mr. Jasem Mohamed AlBudaiwi plays a pivotal role in steering GCC’s strategic direction & facilitating collaboration among its member states. He has also served as the ambassador of the State of Kuwait to the USA & head of the mission of Kuwait to the European Union.
Mr. AlBudaiwi holds a diploma in Diplomatic Studies from Oxford University, UK.

Mr. Amandeep Singh Gill

Mr. Amandeep Singh Gill is a thought leader on digital technology, with deep knowledge of digital technologies. He is also the CEO of International Digital Health & AI Research Collaborative (I-DAIR) project, based at the Graduate Institute of International and Development Studies, Geneva.
Mr. Gill has a PhD in Nuclear Learning in Multilateral Forums from King’s College, London, and a B.Tech degree from Panjab University.

H.E. Ms. Doreen Bogdan-Martin

H.E. Ms. Doreen Bogdan-Martin has held leadership positions in the field of international telecommunications policy for over two decades, with a track-record of brokering innovative partnerships to expand digital inclusion. She has also served as Executive Director of ITU-UNESCO Broadband Commission for Sustainable Development.
