- In 2018-2020 Janusz Cieszyński held the position of Undersecretary of State in the Ministry of Health responsible for digitalization of the health sector. He supervised the e-Health Centre (Center for Health Information Systems) and successfully implemented the following digital projects: Patient Internet Account (IKP), e-prescription, e-referral.
- Since April 2021 - Vice-Chairman and one of the members of the Council for Digital Affairs, whose role is to support the work of the Committee of the Council of Ministers for Digital Affairs and issue opinions on strategic documents and other files pertaining to digitalization, communication and development of information society.
- From November 2020 till June 7th, 2021 - first Deputy President of the City of Chełm, where he was responsible for raising funds for investments and supervised preparatory works of the transformation plan of the municipal heating plant, to meet EU climate targets.
- Adviser to Prime Minister of the Republic of Poland, Mr. Mateusz Morawiecki at the Ministry of Development and the Ministry of Finance, and in 2016-2017, head of the Department of Small and Medium Enterprises (SME) at the Ministry of Development.
- He ran a company providing business and legal consulting services for the SMEs.
- In 2009-2014, he worked in one of the largest telecommunication companies.
In his position as Secretary of State in the Chancellery of the Prime Minister of the Republic of Poland, Mr. Cieszyński reports directly to the Prime Minister and performs all tasks related to the digital government portfolio. As Government Plenipotentiary for Cybersecurity he coordinates all the activities aimed at ensuring cybersecurity of the Republic of Poland and implements the government’s policy in this regard.
