Description:
Our session will investigate the potential of feminist technology to instigate joy, creativity, and empowerment on the internet, breaking away from traditional, capitalist norms of productivity. With the rise of new technology, an increasing number of women are engaging in content creation, bringing fresh perspectives and voices to the digital world. This trend is further augmented by no-code technologies, enabling women to create tech products rapidly, without requiring extensive coding knowledge.
In this lively and engaging session, we'll examine how these technological advancements can foster an environment of joy and inclusivity, countering digital divides, and amplifying diverse voices. Our discussion will revolve around embracing these technologies as tools of empowerment, education, and learning, while challenging our participants to reconceptualize success in the digital world, with an emphasis on joy and personal fulfilment.
The session aims to stimulate thought-provoking discussions, resulting in new ideas and strategies to cultivate joy and empowerment through feminist technology. We expect to identify potential policy recommendations for promoting inclusivity and diversity in tech. The session will inspire new collaborations and initiatives and feed into a broader manifesto on redefining success metrics in the digital world.
Hybrid Format: We will use an online platform with capabilities for interactive features, such as breakout rooms, real-time polls, and Q&A sessions.
