Targets: Discussion of the use of electronic communications networks and next generation connectivity to contribute to more sustainable practices across sectors
Lightning talk
In addition to forming the physical layer of our internet ecosystem today, electronic communications networks are a major enabler for smart and sustainable approaches in many economic sectors. As the internet itself is constantly changing, developing new features and providing solutions for new challenges, so too are networks going through major shifts. With networks providing ever higher capacity, faster speeds and lower latency, and with shifts to virtualization and network slicing, the potential to harness these networks to approach environmental and sustainability challenges is vast. We will use our lightning talk to share the current state of play of using our high-tech networks for combatting the climate emergency, showcasing some of the most innovative examples and use cases of our members, being deployed in all corners of the world.
