    Targets: Show how threats on the cyber-space affect women and identify what women need to do to combat them by offering mentorship in cybersecurity issues to women by emphasizing the link between women empowerment in cybersecurity and child safety online by securing the participation of multiple stakeholders
    Description:

    The session's aim is to provide a platform for African Women in Cybersecurity to discuss the current African cybersecurity landscape in the context of Women's role in establishing safe and secure cyberspace for all. Diverse panelists from the 5 regions of the continent will be sharing their expertise and experience in the area of multidimensional aspects of cyber security (i.e. Policy, regulation/law, capacity building, standardization, strategy, and economics).
    Expected Outcomes
    We will raise awareness about the most prevalent cybercrime affecting African women and demonstrate ways for them to better protect themselves. Present the main activities and aims of the Network of African Women on Cybersecurity. Discuss the barriers that prevent African Women from participating in cybersecurity, and suggest possible solutions.
    Hybrid Format: (Zoom) Hybrid format would be used for the session During the IGF Africa, NAWC will hold a 1-hour session. The NAWC will review the action items developed during the IGF Africa and hold a series of online webinars before the Global IGF to ensure that the discussion continues and stakeholders' interests are maintained. Potential partcipants will be contacted before the global IGF and requested to join the session. Social media will be extensively used to disseminate the discussions and solicit for views from people who will not be able to join physically Use of social media tools ensure that both online and on-site moderators are aligned and able to give equal opportunities to questions from all the participants with a clear balance of online and onsite participants All the speakers will be sensitized on the platforms available before the event and tips given them include the need to ensure if online, there is no interactions from the surrounding environment, the need for proper lightning, and the need to ensure they have good connection with a backup (Intene and Power) just incase of unexpected internet interuptions.
